Why new energy efficient windows?
New Energy Efficiency Windows Will...
- Save you money
- Improve the look of your home
- Protect your flooring & upholstery
In the average home, at least 40 percent of annual energy costs are spent on heating and cooling. With rising energy costs and environmental concerns, it is important to choose energy efficient products. The proper selections and installation of energy efficient windows and doors can significantly effect how much you pay each year on heating and cooling. We provide window products that meet or exceed Energystar ratings. We offer insulated glass panels with high performance, heat reflective coatings; warm edge spacers, and dual weather stripping. These features dramatically reduce energy costs while increasing the comfort and style of your home. Ultimately your windows will pay for themselves as you save on heating and cooling bills.
Why should I be concerned about windows?
Windows can be responsible for unnecessary heat loss, high-energy consumption, cold drafts and condensation problems within homes. Windows and the areas around them are the biggest single area of heat gain and loss in the home.
What are the benefits of an energy efficient window?
Energy efficient windows increase the comfort level in your home by reducing cold drafts and making a house feel warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. They help control condensation because the interior surfaces of energy-efficient windows stay warmer, allowing you to maintain a higher level of humidity without worrying about condensation on your windows. They also last longer because condensation can cause premature deterioration of windows, walls and finishes leading to high maintenance and replacement costs. Most importantly, energy efficient windows save a lot of money. By minimizing air leakage and improving thermal performance of your windows, you could reduce heat loss through windows by up to 50 percent and reduce your energy bills.
Why should I buy custom replacement windows?
Custom replacement windows give you the perfect fit. Stock windows are available only in standard sizes. When your window opening is larger than a standard size, you’re left with an opening around the perimeter of the window. This opening is often filled with sheet rock or molding and leaving you with unnecessary patching and painting. Custom
How can I tell if I need new windows?
Here are some sure signs that your old windows need to be replaced:
- Difficult to open or close
- Drafty, with air leaking through or around the window
- Excessive condensation or icing on the inside of the window panes
- Windows rattle in the wind
- Paint chipping or peeling
- House is always too cold in winter – or too hot in summer

ENERGY SAVING Options MUSTS HAVES for purchasing new windows
Dual Pane Glass
Q: What?! a single piece of glass between me and the elements is bad?
A: Yes! Windows have come a long way, even just in the past ten years. We've come from aluminum frame windows with only a single 1/4" piece of glass between you and the elements, to vinyl, dual pane windows with metallic coating that repel ultraviolet rays. If you have single pane windows, you will benefit the most by replacing them with Dual Pane energy efficient windows. This alone will significantly reduce your heating and cool bills.
Low-E Coatings
Q: What is a Low-Emissivity (Low-E) Coating?
A: A very thin layer of metallic oxide or silver that is baked onto the glass surface. The coating is approximately 3000 times thinner than a piece of paper.
Q: How does Low-E work?
A: Low-E blocks radiant heat transfer, keeping heat form escaping or entering the home
Q: Does Low-E reduce solar heat gains?
A: Yes, Low-E reduces solar heat gain by reflecting or redirecting much of the radiant heat from the sun.
Q: Will Low-E Eliminate fading of carpets or upholstery?
A: Although Low-E reduces a significant amount of ultraviolet light, it will not completely eliminate fading. If you wish to further reduce fading of your carpet and upholstery, you may wish to ask about some of our window tinting options.
Argon Gas
Q: What is Argon Gas?
A: Argon Gas is a colorless, orderless, nonflammable, nontoxic, and above all, a safe, inert gas that is heavier than air.
Q: What does it do?
A: Argon Gas is placed between the two panes of a window, it increases the energy efficiency of a window and also reduces exterior noise.
Warm Edge Spacer
Q: What is a Warm Edge Spacer?
A: A Warm Edge Spacer is placed between the two panes of glass in a window. This provides further insulation from the elements and reduces heat flow. This technology can significantly improve a home's overall energy efficiency.
